Gran Turismo 7 on the Playstation 5 will, perhaps, become the master of all driving sims… specifically for the console. The new Playstation 5 features the latest computer hardware. It is all but a powerful gaming PC in console form, at or below half the price. And the latest trailer for Gran Turismo 7 reveals near photo-realistic visuals. But as good as the PS5 is in terms of power and graphical prowess, it still can not match the most powerful PC gaming rigs and PC graphic cards.

But it’s getting closer, Gran Turismo is a labor of love, a work of art both visually and technically. It is the definitive flagship blue ribbon console racing sim, never bettered. And yes it is a genuine racing sim up there with the best PC racing sims in terms of recreating the physical dynamics of driving a car. But no sim, no matter how good or realistic, will ever replace the physicality of driving or racing in the real world.

But it is fair to say, we here at DCBHQ are very much looking forward to getting a copy of Gran Turismo 7 when it launches next year. We just need to find a PS5 first. Damn you Covid-19, damn you global residual chip shortages!
