Auto News

Early adopters making the transition from ICE cars to pure electric have yet another reason to celebrate. Kia has revealed the full UK spec of their latest battery powered vehicle. As singing and dancing echoed the valleys, sweeping pristine countryside and cities across the UK Kia used this moment of joy to introduce the beginnings of a new era. To join this bold new era still requires good old-fashioned money. To that end, the Kia EV6 will be priced from £40k for entry-level models and rise to £50k for top-of-the-range performance variants.

As standard, entry-level models will be powered by a 55kWh model. A long range 77kWh battery will be offered as an option. Drive will be supplied to the rear wheels by a single electric motor with a power rating of 226bhp. Key Standard features include front and rear LED lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, heated steering wheel and front seats, fake leather upholstery, climate control, ambient lighting and climate control.

But Kia isn’t done just yet with the model variants. A top of the range performance GT is scheduled to arrive in 2022. This model will offer 577bhp and a 0-62 time of just 3.2 seconds. More importantly, entry level models will have a range of 225 miles while the 77kWh battery will offer up to 316 miles.

Rapid charging will zap 60 miles of range in as little as 4.5 minutes. UK order books open in July with first deliveries expected in October.
