Suzuki Jimmy is Growing Up New Spy Shots Reveal
Auto News

The Suzuki Jimny is somewhat of a style icon, the designers really nailed the exterior design language. It’s got that bit of rough edge about it that made the original Land Rover Defender so… Defendery. And now the Jimny is getting a bigger brother, a commercial variant was seen testing in Southern Spain. The spy shots show what appears to be a modified Jimny running on an extended, longer platform compared to the standard Jimny. In other words a long-wheelbase variant.

The Jimny was discontinued in the UK after failing to meet emissions standards. Even though the Jimny is powered by a 4-cylinder 1.5-liter engine, the emissions rating of 154g/km compares to that of a more powerful fuel-thirsty car. This indicates the Suzuki engine is outdated and very little has been spent to bring it up to current regulations.

Nonetheless, Suzuki found a loophole to get around EU emissions regulations by selling the Jimny as a two-door commercial vehicle. In Germany, the Jimny retails from 20,000 Euros.
