This Bespoke Aston Martin Rapide Shooting Brake is Up For Sale
Auto News

This was one of the last bespoke coach-built cars produced by Bertone. Bertone was a celebrated Italian automotive styling house that penned classics for Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Citroën, Ferrari, FIAT, Iso, Lancia, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz, Opel and Volvo, among others. However after 102 years the company ceased operations in 2014, the same year they released the Aston Martin Rapide base Jet 2+2 Shooting Brake. It was built to celebrate 60 years of Aston Martin and Bertone’s limited-edition collaborations.

Launched at the Geneva Motor show 2013. It was “the car” of the show. No one knew it would be there. The Jet 2+2 was a Rapide, converted to create a shooting Brake of great speed and comfort. The rear has been totally redesigned. Creating over 110cm more headroom. With a hydraulic lift tailgate, the rear seats fold flat automatically.

The rear floor slides forward to create an enormous floor area 3 In the back of the rear seats are the TV screens to allow the rear passengers to view films etc. Burl oak wood trim is on the centre consul right through the car to the back. Power is supplied by a naturally aspirated 470bhp 5.9-litre V12.

With just 10,000 miles on the clock, the Jet 2+2 is for sale right now in the UK. Not sure how much it costs, but the rarity, low mileage and the fact that it was one of the last coach-built cars to be designed and built by Bertone should bump up the price to around £450,000.
