You Better Import That Ford Bronco if You Don’t Live in the USA
Auto News

The Ford Bronco is selling faster than hot dog burgers at a 50,000 strong, not socially distanced anti-masker convention. Otherwise known as an illegal rave. The all-new generation Bronco isn’t even in the showrooms just yet. Ford received 165,000 pre-orders in the first three weeks of being made officially available online. Bronco customers slapped down $100 deposits to secure their future as of yet not made SUV. That’s a great start, however, by comparison, Ford sells 900,000 F-150 pickup trucks every year.

But if you live outside of the USA don’t expect Ford to be shipping a right-hand drive version to the United kingdom, or left-hand-drive versions to the rest of Europe. Ford has categorically stated there will be no European spec Broncos. It might be possible in the future because the Bronco uses the same chassis as the Kuga SUV.

So the Bronco will be a North American affair only. The Bronco will be offered with a 4-cylinder 2.3-litre 270 hp engine in addition to a 2.7-litre, 310 bhp V6. Entry-level models will have a 181 bhp, 3-cylinder 1.5 engine and a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Eco-boost engine.

It’s all about the emissions, Europe has progressively stricter emissions laws than America. Ford doesn’t want to expend money trying to meet those emissions. Afterall the Bronco is just starting its sales cycle. Ford needs to build up its manufacturing capacity and inventory stock first.

Then it needs to make a profit after all Ford spent between $1-2 billion developing the Bronco. So the only way to get one if you live outside of North America is either steal one and illegally ship it out of the USA. Or you could become a citizen of the United States or Canada EH!
