Skoda Continues To Quietly Do Superb With The All-New Octavia
Auto News

Skoda continues to march forward with excellent trend-setting idealism as it reveals the pricing and spec of the all-new 4th-generation Octavia. The Skoda Octavia, often seen as the company’s staple bread and butter pudding breadwinner, has been elevated into an upmarket suit and tie wearing business executive. It offers a fully digital digitally connected cockpit, and even has a shift by wire gear lever which negates the requirement of a bulky gear stick. Times are a-changing for Skoda. The order books are open now for interested UK punters, so get connected, get clicking and start buying.

The Octavia range consists of hatch and estate body styles, three engine options and a trio of value-packed trim grades: SE First Edition, SE Technology, and SE L First Edition. UK prices for the new Octavia range start from £22,390 OTR for the 1.5 TSI 150PS SE First Edition hatch model and rise to £29,515 OTR for the 2.0 TDI 150PS DSG Estate SE L First Edition.

Additional derivatives and powertrain options will join the range later this year, including an entry level S trim, a 1.0 TSI engine available with a manual transmission, the introduction of mHEV (mild hybrid) DSG on both the 1.0 TSI and 1.5 TSI, and PHEV (plug-in hybrid) models.

A sporty vRS model, available in diesel, petrol and PHEV, will also be added to the range. The Octavia vRS iV will be the first ever electrified vRS model. The fourth-generation Octavia is longer and wider than its predecessor, has an even larger boot and showcases the latest evolution of Skoda design language.

In terms of engine choice, the new Octavia range launches with three options with power outputs ranging from 115PS to 150PS. The petrol unit is a 1.5 TSI 150PS while the entry-level diesel offering is a 2.0 TDI unit that develops 115PS. Both drive through a six-speed manual gearbox.

SE L First Edition customers have the additional option of a 2.0 TDI 150PS engine that comes with a seven-speed DSG gearbox as standard.
