Somebody Should Tell Mercedes The E Class Styling Update Doesn’t Work
Video

The fifth-generation Mercedes E Class (W213) is now three years old and as it heads on towards the second phase of its product lifecycle it’s time for a product update. Product updates are designed to keep consumer interest… interested. To keep driving sales. Updates/facelifts are usually subtle and largely go unnoticed, but not in this case.

The new front and rear headlights simply don’t work, they didn’t look good prior to the update and now they simply look discombobulated. The updated E Class is really about what you can’t see. While the range of trims and petrol and diesel engines remain the same the introduction of 48-volt mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrids are the key changes brought to the updates.

And Yes there will be a super-performing 600bhp E63. But it’s about the tech stupid. Such as the latest iteration of the MBUX infotainment system, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control.

WARNING: This first Mercedes Propaganda video features a journalist using the business terminology, ‘vertical’.
