The Electric car upstart disrupter and SpaceX owner has finally added movie stardom to his endless list of achievements. Not content with being a billionaire Elon Musk has now turned to acting. His first movie is set in space, the sci-fi thriller sees Musk take on a demented AI system that turns killer in a bid to break free of inefficient human logic.

But it’s a Deepfake debut for Musk. YouTuber Ctrl Shift Face uses Deepfake software to transpose Musk’s face over the actor who appeared in the 1968 Stanley Kubrick movie, 2001 A Space Odyssey.

Deepfake software uses artificial neural networks, kind-of-like a digital internet-based brain. This digital neural network works by using the interweb to source millions of images or videos, in this case, Elon Musk.

The software then “digitally stitches” Musks face over the face of any movie, any situation. But it won’t work for me, because I do not have any internet profile at all. For I am a ghost.
