Noblechairs Epic Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport Chair

After four years, my office chair has become somewhat delipidated. It has been my rock, I have shed tears, screamed, laughed, roared, cheered in that seat. It’s as if my trusty old office chair was by my side through thick and thin. Its time has come and gone, now it is going off into the sunset… to be recycled at the local refuse center. My new office chair has to be high-back, quality, and stylish looking. When I saw the noblechairs Epic gaming chair I thought I had to buy it. It has been designed and developed with none other than Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport. That’s the Formula One team if you didn’t know;)

However, my initial enthusiasm was tempered. These type of chairs are often of questionable quality, look great but feel cheap. But I went ahead and pulled the trigger. It’s the special edition Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport model from noblehairs and it really does look great, but does it have the functionality to match the race car-inspired looks?

My view was if I didn’t like it I would return it and get a refund. I am very fussy about my office chair, the arse always has the final say. So when the box arrived my enthusiasm picked up. And from the off one can see that noblechairs really put in an effort into the external packaging design. Things look promising from the get-go.

Noble Chairs Mercedes Edition details

Usually these gaming chairs are quite flimsy and as a result fairly lightweight. The boxed content felt nice and heavy which was a good sign. The Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport Special Edition is based on the noblenhairs Epic brand of premium chairs.

This particular model is inspired by the livery of the 2018 W09 Formula One car that powered Lewis Hamilton to his 5th F1 world title. It looks fantastic and has a real wow factor to it. It is solidly built and feels indestructible as much as it feels premium.

The materials, the fit, and finish are top-notch. The contrast bright green stitching is precisely done and is an indication of the attention to detail and quality you are paying for. You also get carbon-fiber effect trim adorned to the side bolsters which only serves to enhance the overall premium feel.

The seat base does feel a little firm to begin with but after over a month of use I have no issues with comfort, it’s worn in really well. You have full office chair functional, gas-lift, recline, and comfortable adjustable armrests.

The only issue I have is the recline mechanism, it is springloaded and is operated via a small handle. It isn’t the smoothest to engage, perhaps a hydraulic or rachet based solution would work better.

But overall the noblechairs Epic Mercedes-AMG chair is admittedly a mouthful but at £349 GBP is worth it. It looks and feels premium and you can understand why Mercedes AMG gave it the official seal of approval. I am certainly happy with my purchase and so is the arse.
