Datsun 240Z Remade By The Mighty Car Mods
Video

Mighty Car Mods purchase a Datsun 240Z from Japan over t’internet without ever seeing the car in person. With sale complete, the Aussie drongo modders fly over to Japan to collect their little wonder. Depending on where you are, the Datsun 240Z was also known as Nissan Fairlady Z, it’s a classic ‘sleeper’ Japanese sports car made between 1969-1978. It is one of the all-time classics of its era. In today’s market, a pristine example can fetch up to $100,000.

Anyway, Mighty Car Mods YouTube guys are hell-bent intent on modifying the 240Z. So they plan to remove the original in-line six-cylinder engine for a RB26 Skyline GTR engine.

So that’s a 40-year-old car running a 20-year-old engine. Classic meets an imminent classic. So that’s going from 151bhp to around 268bhp. After they finish with it they get 429bhp out of the engine, in a car weighing 1tonne.

MCM YouTube guys are not trained professionals, they are enthusiasts who have no idea what they are doing. And in YouTube land that enthusiasm kind of works.
