Toyota GT86 Gets Entry Level Model for UK Market
Auto News
The UK version of the Toyota GT86 now gets an entry level model, the GT86 Primo starts at £22.5k, that’s nearly £2k cheaper than the current entry level model. Early adopters can get a further £500 off, for a limited time only. Toyota’s annoucement is a rallying cry of sorts and it comes after Subaru revealed they were dropping the price of the BRZ to a similar price point. The GT86 Primo does without some luxuries such as keyless entry (not really needed on a sports coupe), cruise control (nope), and automatic headlights (pointless for driving purists). Crucially the Primo GT86 retains that limited slip-differential which mean’s maximum rear wheel drive fun without much effort, other key features include air-con (yep), bluetooth and manly 17″ alloy wheels. Toyota will also be wheeling out two new models, the top spec Aero trim basically features better looking body work and includes rear, side and front body skirts, a larger rear spoiler and 18″ alloy wheels, cost? £27k. The Giallo Special edition model is distinguished mainly by a vibrant yellow paint job with contrasting gloss-black mirrors and heated black leather seats, cost? £27k, but only 86 examples of the Giallo will be available to UK punters. Other than that the standard 2.0-litre, boxer engine remains unchanged.  Toyota-GT86-Primo-B
