I got an email out of the blue from A.Kahn Design (formerly known as Project Kahn) asking me to come down for a chat and a drive, I looked on their company website and when I saw the two Bugatti Veyron's, which make up part of their high end supercar fleet, I instantly pictured myself behind the wheel of a Veyron and of course not forgetting that chat. You may have heard of A.Kahn Design before, if you haven't heard of the Bradford based company then you may well have seen it advertising in a car magazine, some how the company has gained a profile in the sub-conscience minds of car enthusiasts, but what is A.Kahn Design all about?

The company is often referred to as specialist tuners but the latter is one part of the overall offering. A.Kahn Design offers bespoke aftermarket customisation and serves mainly high net worth individuals, from Saudi Arabian Princesses, to Hollywood royalty, from Premiership footballers to high profile UK celebrities. The company designs and manufactures bespoke exterior accessories, and re-upholsters interiors with bespoke tailored designs, what ever the customer wants, the customer gets. The bulk of their sales come from modified Range Rover's indeed the company even offers its own version of the brand, such as the Range Rover Vesuvius which incorporates A.Kahn Design's very own visual language mainly pertaining to a redesigned interior and exterior body accessories such as new bumper designs.

A.Kahn Design isn't a 'Pimp my Ride' style operation, they don't use modified off the shelf, aftermarket bumpers or alloy wheels, they design and manufacturer their own exterior components and they employ a valuable design process/methodology, a philosophy that runs through the heart of the company's core values. The design team comprises of talented graduate designers whom have studied Automotive Design at Coventry University, a world renowned course and institute which filters out only the best automotive talent, its like the Oxford University for car designers of the future.

The bumpers and alloy wheels are conceived within Project Kahn's design studio and is led by Afzal Kahn, the hands on founder of the company which bears his name. No detail is overlooked for Mr Kahn approves everything he is the Enzo Ferrari of the automotive, aftermarket industry. The blue prints are then passed over to companies selected for their ability to meet A.Kahn Design's high standards, manufacturers that can perform to high tolerances for example all new bumper designs are formed by a company based in Germany, the alloy wheels in Italy.
