Getting a Ferrari F8 Spider press loan is perhaps the most difficult feat ever undertaken by this blog. Ferrari is known to pick and choose who they want. Getting approval from Ferrari is like getting approval from the Pope. The likelihood is that one of us here at DCB HQ has a better chance of being selected to become an astronaut for Elon Musk’s Space X Starship program. But that doesn’t mean we should sit back and wait for something that will never happen.

We have two options, work hard and become wealthy, or kick back, slack off and wait for something never to happen. Because it is easy to slack away our future we choose the latter option. It’s also the least stressful. That being said the Ferrari F8 Spider is pure Ferrari at it’s best.

The 3.9-litre V8 twin-turbo is good for 710bhp, 770Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque which allows for a 0-62mph time of 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 211mph. Ferrari even throws in a bit of GT race-bred technology to enable the F8 Spider to… corner likes it’s on rails.

We might have a lot of waiting to do, the cost of an F8 Spider is $274,000. Rather a lot of money for an underpaid motoring journalist.
