Lexus LF-30 Concept Is A Preview of The Next Pure Electric Lexus SUV
Auto News

Lexus is joining the flock of electric car birds (if that makes any sense). No… Lexus is joining the electric car congregation, praying for new hope as it gets on its knees to sing to the Lord, to the Lord of electricity. In normal terminology, it simply means Lexus is preparing to unveil its very first electric car at November’s Tokyo Motorshow. But it isn’t… if that makes any sense. The LF-30 is a fully pure-electric SUV concept. So do not expect the eye-catching looks to make it into final production.

The Lexus LF-30 has a theoretical range of 301 miles courtsey of a 110kWh battery pack. The electric motors are placed on each wheel to aid handling dynamics. With 536bhp on tap Lexus says the LF-30 concept can go from 0-62mph in 3.8 seconds. The LF-30 will feature self-driving technology and steer by wire in place of a mechanical steering column.

One cool feature is the tinted windows… but these are no ordinary tints, the opacity of the tint can be changed at a flick of a button. The technology exists, has done for years but it is considered expensive. This is somewhat fitting the technology should be used in a Lexus.

The Lexus LF-30 Concept is so advanced it will feature AI voice recognition. This will enable the computer to respond not only to the driver but also to fellow passengers. The LF-30 is a precursor to a fully electric Lexus SUV.

Don’t expect the final production version to look or offer all of the features mentioned, it is a concept after all. A vehicular concept has one purpose, to generate publicity.
