This is the moment grainy CCTV footage from a small town in Tula, Russia shows why 18 year old drivers should never get behind the wheel of a high powered Corvette C7 muscle car. Speed is the biggest factor in the cause of the crash, and also being 18 years old and indestructible. The American muscle car is powered by a 6.2-litre small-block V-8 which develops 455bhp and over 600Nm of torque. It isn’t as sophisticated as say a 911, and it features transverse mounted leaf-springs, the advantages being that it either supplements or replaces the anti-roll bar. But in truth, the driver should have been replaced, he crashed into a Renault saloon that was innocently turning left ahead of him. the C7 was traveling at a speed where even braking was not enough to slow down momentum. The resulting impact caused the C7 to swerve uncontrollably into a nearby block of flats where two people had been making their way up a flight of steps when the crash occurs. The footage shows the C7 sliding and crashing into guard rails at the foot of the outdoor stairway. The driver of emerged unharmed, the Renault driver was hospitalized.
