BMW Celebrate 30 Years of M Production With The M4 Convertible Edition 30 Jahre
Auto News
The BMW M4, never liked the previous M class cars because I always felt they were overhyped by easily influenced self-important, pompous, industry backslapping motoring journalists. This attitude is especially refined when it comes to BMW, motoring journalists do their best to say how great every single BMW ever made is or was. Once you say nice things, a manufacturer notices and never forgets a friend, and when you are a top influencer (hate that word) saying nice things lands you a free flight in a BMW corporate jet. You can see why many, many motoring journalists are easily bought. Yes, both sides win, win… but the reader or YouTube viewer is blissfully unaware of the behind the scenes nudges and winks, thumbs up. So, these motoring journalists they’ll say nice things about the BMW M1, in reality, the M1… it’s complete rubbish horrible steering, slow, awful ride dislocated handling. But what is the fuss really about? The corporate jet, invites to press launches with all expenses paid. Mi casa es su casa. That’s what it is all about, paid opinions paid for by BMW, directly or indirectly. So you can understand why I am not particularly impressed with anything BMW, how can you be sure a supposedly authoritative motoring publication is relaying an actual, objective opinion. The truth is many motoring publications and therefore journalists have sold out, motoring journalism is well and truly dead, these days its become just another marketing function. However, having driven the M4 Coupe I can say it was/is an unexpectedly thrilling drive, a revelation. It feels more like a supercar, on par with a McLaren 570S or 911 GT3 RS. It’s that good. BMW-M4-Convertible-Edition-Jahre-Dailycarblog The BMW M4 Convertible is now available as a special edition model to celebrate 30 years of M power production. In reality, it’s just an exclusive paint job with a bit of extra kit. Limited to 30 examples and based on the M Competition package, the M4 30 Jahre outputs 450bhp/550Nm torque from a 3.0-litre straight, six-cylinder, twin-turbo engine. Of course, performance figures are fast, 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph all delivered through an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. M4 punters will have a choice of two body colors – the Macao Blue and the Frozen Dark Grey Metallic, available exclusively in the UK. Standard features for the edition model include BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line trims for the BMW kidney grille surround, the M side gills, the model lettering and the forged M light alloys. The 20-inch wheels come in the color Orbit Grey matt offered exclusively for the edition model. Expect plenty of leather and contrast stitching for the interior. Cost? £76k. Expensive but you would have to pay twice as much for a 570S or 911 GT3 RS, as a secretly paid motoring journalist would say on behalf of BMW, that’s a bargain. Motoring journalists… they are so out of touch, a £76k car is not a bargain for the vast majority of people except for the 1-percent and drug dealers.  BMW-M4-Convertible-Edition-Jahre-Yellow-Dailycarblog
