The Lam-BRO-ghini Urus Will Become The Perfect SUV of Choice For Music Videos
Auto News
So this happened the other day, as you may or may not be aware, Lamborghini revealed the Urus SUV, the said name follows Lambo’s tradition of using names from famous Spanish fighting bulls. Although it must be said all of the Bulls were eventually slaughtered and actually Urus is derived from the ancestor of modern domestic cattle. Hardly a fitting name for a fighting bull.  The Urus first debuted as a concept in 2012 and despite following the traditions of naming every Lamborghini after either domestic cattle or Spanish fighting bulls, the Urus will be powered by a domesticated 4.0-litre V8 Twin-Turbo producing a domesticated 641bhp and a domesticated top speed of 190mph. Lamborghini-Urus-Super-SUV-Side-View-Dailycarblog- It’s the same V8 you’ll find in the Bentley Continental V8, Audi S and RS models indeed its a stock VW made engine that has been essentially re-branded and most probably modified by Lamborghini. The VW family lineage doesn’t stop with the engine, the Urus is based on the same platform as the Audi Q7, VW Touareg, and Bentley Bentayga… and Porsche Cayenne. And no it won’t be rear-wheel drive, it’s VW stock AWD. Lamborghini-Urus-Super-SUV-Interior-Dailycarblog- However, where the Lamborghini differs from its VW stock brothers is that it makes an extensive use of carbon fiber reinforced polymer. As a result of the use of this material, the Urus will be significantly lighter than a traditional fast SUV. Indeed, the Urus is perhaps the first proper SuperSUV on the market, it will have carbon ceramic brakes and the all-wheel-drive system will divert power 40 percent to the front wheels and 60 percent to the rear. An e-diff is icing on the cake. (VW stock). Most of the tech is ripped straight out of VW’s parts bin, air-suspension, torque vectoring and a host of driver safety aids and digital displays. Which isn’t a bad thing at all. Lamborghini-Urus-Super-SUV-Rear-View-Dailycarblog- Most people won’t be bothered where the parts for the Lamborghini Urus have come from, most won’t be even aware, they just want a LamBROghini SUV they can personalise. The Lamborghini Urus is sure to end up in the offshore shores of Monaco or the Cayman Islands but its true fate will be to become a backup stooge for the latest Taylor Swift music video, or a rapper will get paid £1m just for a 1-second mention in a rap lyric. Lets hope @mrroryreid spares us from his dreadful, self-indulgent rap song…thing… that motoring PR people pretend to like just so they can get bit of celebrity glare and bask in the resulting fake sunshine. The LamBROghini Urus will go on sale in 2019 for around £200k.  Lamborghini-Urus-Super-SUV-Dailycarblog-
