Doug DeMuro Reviews A 10 Year Old Mercedes That’s Still Worth $80k
Video
Doug DeMuro gets behind the wheel of a 10 year old Mercedes Maybach that’s still worth $80k in today’s money. Back in 2007 it cost $300k, and the Maybach was the pinnacle of Mercedes ownership. The Maybach brand was founded in 1909 making highly opulent automobiles. During WWII Maybach switched to making tank engines for the Nazi’s.  After the war, Maybach never resumed vehicle production, by 1960 Mercedes purchased Maybach for the purposes of producing ultra luxury special editions. Mercedes revived Maybach in 2004 as an independent ultra-luxury brand, but sales were dreadfully slow. By 2012 the last Maybach rolled off the production line and Maybach ceased to exist as a fully independent brand for the second time in its history. However, the name was again revived in 2015, existing as a badge-only for special edition variants of the E Class and S Class.  Mercedes-Maybach-Doug-Demuro-Review-Dailycarblog
