Skoda vRS 245, A Welter Weight Boxer In A Ring of Heavyweights
Auto News
The Skoda Octavia vRS range has been in jeopardy as Skoda has signalled on more than one occasion that the performance version of the Octavia range could be canned due to low sales. But it seems as though the Octavia vRS is still busting a move as Skoda have just announced the latest version of this low selling champ. The Octavia vRS 245 has a 15bhp upgrade over the “standard” vRS,  the 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine now produces 245 PS. The top speed of 155 mph and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.6 seconds should give the vRS 245 a little bit of performance credibility. It will also get a new 7-speed direct-shift transmission for the first time and the VAQ limited-slip differential should empower this front wheel driven car. Or you can opt for a 6-speed manual. Also included is ESC stability system with Sport mode and electronically regulated VAQ limited-slip differential as standard which – say Skoda – allows for ”dynamic” acceleration when exiting bends. Performance Mode Select with Performance Sound Generator function enables individual adjustment of drive, chassis and comfort settings. Optional adaptive Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC). Exterior details include the 19-inch wheels which are finished in gloss black, the vRS is available in both hatch or estate versions for around £27k    Skoda-Octavia-VRS-245
