Who The Fuck Is This Guy? Lord Fuckin’ Thrillbilly? WTF!

His name is Sam, Sam Michael David Fane to be precise. He is passionate about cars. He was also once passionate about Coffee and passionately used to dabble in property management. Sam describes himself as working in PR despite spending most of his working days videoing himself driving cars and uploading the results onto YouTube. Where ever his true passions lie Sam has one common thread shared with many popular YouTube channels. Personality.

Sam’s YouTube channel is a like it or loathe it watching experience, he has a Terry Thomas like personality but without the gap-toothed grin. After a year of Vlogging Sam quickly worked his way up to buying a Jaguar F-Type R.

Naturally it’s easy to conclude that Sam is loaded and he quickly makes friends with Supercars of London man and bags a content syndication deal with carthottle.

Since then he has changed the F-Type for a stupid Fiat 500 or I think it’s his second car. No doubt he is being paid by Fiat in a hush-hush product placement campaign of some fiduciary value.

So we come to the point where we begin to realise where do Sam’s true intentions lie? Is it cars or raising his public profile via YouTube? The latter makes more financial sense.

We say it’s about raising his public profile because Sam can monetise his persona which is why Saatchi and Saatchi’s celeb management division signed him up.

Sam is big cheese now despite having a relatively low but growing YouTube subscriber base. Sam’s financial value is in his chirpy personality. S&S are hedging their bets on Sam making it big-er.

If you are thinking about starting a YouTube channel and hoping it makes money for you then remember one important fact, it’s all about the personality. Interests or passions do not matter, just make it up and pretend to be interested in something.

Only then can you be like Sam.
