Porsche 911 Ad Ties In CGI Muhammad Ali With Chess Grandmaster
Video
https://youtu.be/6oJXL398aBU You know what… we don’t get what the hell Porsches’ marketing team were thinking when they decided to pit a computer generated image of Muhammad Ali in his prime against the Porsche 911 and a Chess Grandmaster.  We think Porsche are trying to say its the greatest ever sports coupe in reference to Ali’s self-styled moto “I am the greatest”. To add further confusion to this promo for the Porsche 911 the ad features a current Norwegian Chess Grandmaster by the name of 25 year old Magnus Carlsen. What we think Porsche are trying to say that all three are the “greatest” in their respective fields. Ali passed into the realm beyond earth aged 74 on June 3rd 2016 after battling Parkinsons disease since the 1980’s. Porsche have since withdrawn TV spots for this ad, but why didn’t Porsche take stock footage of Ali and mix it in with the 911 if they wanted to take advantage of Ali’s image. While CGI has improved considerably over the last five years defining a human in 3d still lacks realistic empathy. You kind of know that Ali in this ad is a computer generated likeness. And anyway Ali would always make time to rhyme.  Muhammad-Ali-CGi-Porsche-911-Ad
