Just how do you replace the Bugatti Veyron? With the all new Chiron thats how and now Bugatti have finally made official the details we can look on in shock and awe. As you would expect the Chiron takes the Veyron’s hypercar blueprint and eclipses it’s predecessor by some margin.

No one should suffer the indignity of reading a car manufactures corporate press release so we’ll keep this short and simple.

The Chiron is powered by a new 8-litre W16 quad-turbo engine, two of the turbos are designed to eliminate turbo lag. The total power output reads like a science fiction novel, 1,500bhp and 1,600 Nm of torque.

Bugatti claims straight-line performance figures of 2.5 seconds for the 0-62mph sprint with a claimed top speed of 260mph.

To get to that top speed  the Chiron is fitted with a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox with what Bugatti is saying is the “highest performance clutch” seen in a production road car of any type.

The Chiron will have the latest adaptive damping suspension with driver  five settings. In a down to earth comparison you can get these systems on a Honda Civic.

The chassis and structure of the Chiron is forged from carbon fiber. To stop all of this unstoppable force Bugatti have fitted eight piston calipers to brakes for the front 20-inch alloys and six at the rear of the 21-inch alloys.

Of the Michelin shod tires Bugatti says that  it should be “easier to install and allow lower operating expenses.”

But really, who’s kidding who, if you can afford the $2.6 million dollar asking price then you can afford the operating costs.

The Chiron will continue to offer one of the most luxurious hypercar interiors on the market. Oddly you can also get Wi-Fi connectivity so that hackers can track your every movement.

The Chiron will be limited to a production run of 500 cars. The Veyron was in production for 10 years with a similar limited edition run.
